OCTOBER 2011

The Met: Live in HD

The Metropolitan Opera, New York: Live in HD for the first time in Israel, and only at the Jerusalem Cinematheque! The 2011-12 Season. Beginning October 15, nine live performances taking place at the Metropolitan will be transmitted live at the Jerusalem Cinematheque. Peter Gelb, the Met's General Manager, says that the aim of this project is to increase the number of the international audiences of the opera and to open the door for new viewers that do not necessarily know the magnificent creations this art has to offer. A new production of Donizetti's Anna Bolena opens the Met season, Saturday October 15.
